Today is my oldest daughter’s half birthday. Yes, I said HALF…we like to acknowledge the halfway mark to the next birthday in our house! Hard to believe she will be eighteen in just six months…
Birthdays are a big event in our house, and cause for great celebrations! I think I spent close to two months planning her first birthday party…a pink princess party. While that celebration holds a special memory in my heart, I think my favorite party that I have planned for her was her sweet 16 party…a Breakfast at Tiffany’s brunch.
What an appropriate party theme for our firstborn, who is named Audrey! It was a fun opportunity to introduce her to the classic movie and start to plan all the details of her celebration.
We started by sending invitations which asked the guests to come dressed in black…dresses, shorts, pants, anything black. It was fun to see how the girls accessorized their outfits!
The girls arrived to find a table set with lots of tiffany blue decorations and black accents. It was early September, so an outside setting was perfect.
We started the festivities with mocktails, and the brunch included pastries, fruit and yogurt parfaits, and an omelet bar.
Following brunch, the guests had a little fun playing dress up. I had a vanity table stocked full up Tiffany-inspired accessories…pearls, white gloves, sunglasses, pearls, photo booth props, diamond rings, and more pearls. Fun was had by all as they channeled Audrey Hepburn for a fun photo shoot!
What birthday celebration doesn’t have a cake?!? The girls were not only treated to cake, but a candy buffet featuring custom-wrapped chocolate bars, chocolate covered Oreos, gumballs and assorted candies.
Every friend left the party with a keepsake…their own little Tiffany blue box filled with goodies.
Such a fun party and great memories! Time to start thinking of ideas for her 18th birthday celebration….
Please … invite me to Audrey’s 18th!!!
Wow – looked fabulous! Thanks for sharing – now I am inspired for Mabel’s sweet sixteen in October!
Hello. Loved it. Please tell me where I can get the Tiffany colored custom wrapped chocolate bars.
I purchased them from a shop on etsy. Here is the link to her page https://www.etsy.com/shop/CandyBarBoutique?page=2
She can do custom orders.
