It’s that time of year again…time for little girls (and boys) to show their families all they have learned throughout the past year while attending dance class. Some dance studios call it a recital, some call it a showcase, others call it a dance review. No matter what it is called, it is a time for the dancers to shine on stage!
This past weekend was that time for my youngest daughter. It was her ballet showcase, and she was quite excited to perform on stage! I wanted to make the evening a little extra special for her, so I made a few ballet inspired treats for after the showcase.
I saw these “marshmallow ballerinas” on Pinterest a while ago. I thought they were perfect because my little ballerina LOVES marshmallows! So I created a few using melted white chocolate, pink sugar sprinkles, cupcake liners, lollipop sticks, and of course marshmallows.
First, place the marshmallow on a stick.
Then dip it halfway into the melted chocolate.
Then dip it into the pink sugar sprinkles.
Once the chocolate is “set,” slip a cupcake liner on the stick to make the tutu on the ballerina.
I used different color combinations…light pink, bright pink, and silver…because Claire pointed out that no two ballerinas are the same. How cute are those!
I also found these strawberry flavored marshmallows at the grocery, and I wanted to do something with them. So I just added them to an apothecary jar with this ballerina sticker doily pick that I made.
I finished off the dessert table with these ballet slipper cutout cookies…for someone wanting something other than marshmallows.
I added a sweet and simple pink ballerina banner to the chalkboard hanging on the wall behind the dessert table. She loved seeing her name on the banner!
So proud of my little ballerina! It was a special night watching her dance and show us all she has learned this year.
So sweet!
Loving this post! I done dipped marshmallows in sprinkles for my sons party last year, but will do this idea for my daughters party in December 🙂 Thanks! X
Thank you! Can’t go wrong with marshmallows and sprinkles!!
