My ninth grade daughter started school yesterday…still can’t believe she is a freshman in high school! She attends St. Ursula Academy (SUA), an all-girls Catholic school. She became a student during her seventh grade year, and it has been such a good choice for her educationally and beyond. SUA kicked off the school year with an Electric Run for the girls on Sunday evening. It is a run/walk followed by an after party complete with a DJ, dancing, neon fun, and lots of school spirit!
Since the after party was planned, we decided to have a PRE party! Of course, the decorating included lots of bright, neon colors. I started by spray painting brown cardboard letters with neon pain to represent the school acronym.
You know how I love banners, so I just HAD to create one. Neon duck tape and some jute string worked perfectly.
Since I had SO much fun with the neon duck tape, why not decorate the table with it!
I had lots of electric swag for the girls…glow sticks, neon necklaces, and silly string. Perfect for the exciting evening ahead!
I kept the food simple…strawberries, some veggies and dip, and pizza. The water bottles were also decorated with the neon duck tape.
Then it was time to get “ready” for the run! The more neon, the better!
It was time to head off to the main event of the evening…the electric run, but not before enjoying a cake pop.
It was a great night for my daughter and her friends…such a fun start to the year!
A pre-party! What a great idea!
She invited some girls who are new to the school this year. I think it was comforting for them to get together beforehand. Eases the anxiety of the unknown.
I love how you think of all the little details!!!!!
That’s my favorite part…all the little details!
