You may remember that I love to decorate our mantel for the various holidays (remember this post). Because Halloween is upon us, I’ve been busy creating a spooky mantel scene “for the birds.”
I started by layering the mantel with these black feathery picks…I love the touch of orange sparkle.
An antique wood framed mirror hangs just above the center of the mantel. A dark branch with a small black bird perched on it is a perfect accent.
These gray lanterns look great on the far sides of the mantel. They help to set the spooky scene with the black birds.
Of course with all the birds, we need a birdcage! This white wire one makes a nice contrast with all the dark colors.
I like how this white owl is watching over the room from his perch.
I mixed in some white candles with various heights among the black birds.
Of course, every mantel needs a banner! I thought the font in these scrapbook letters would be perfect. Add some cardstock in coordinating colors and patterns and some bakers twine to string it all together.
Are you ready to see it all put together?
