I made these candy corn krispy treats for my daughter’s Halloween party at school a few years ago. She had a few classmates with nut allergies, so I thought these treats would be festive and yummy while staying within the nut-free guidelines.
You will need rice krispy treats (I use the packaged kind…much easier to mold into the shape), pretzel rods, white chocolate, and jimmies.
First, mold the rice krispy treat into the shape of a piece of candy corn.
Then gently press the pretzel rod into it so that it leaves an indentation. Melt the white chocolate and pour some of it in the indentation. Place the pretzel on top of the white chocolate and allow it to set. Be careful that the pretzel doesn’t pop off.
Then cover the entire back side with the white chocolate. You can put them in the freezer for a few minutes to help them set up faster.
Once the chocolate is set, you can decorate the front…I think that is the fun part! I do that in sections, starting with the lower one-third of the rice krispy treat. I spoon a stripe of white chocolate on it and then top it with the yellow jimmies.
Do the same with the middle stripe, using the orange jimmies.
Finish it by decorating the top portion with the white jimmies.
And there you have it…cute little candy corn rice krispy treats!
So, who will be making these fun treats this week?
