Happy February…the month of valentine cards, XO’s, and conversation hearts has arrived! This month is the perfect time to tell your loved ones how special they are to you. I’m not sure about you, but we get so busy with the day-to-day activities at our house that we don’t always express to our kids how great we think they are.
I’m reminded of the Billy Crystal/ Bette Midler movie “Parental Guidance.” In case you haven’t seen it, the family has a policy of three “put UPS” for every “put DOWN.” This leads to some interesting compliments from the kids in the movie! Seriously though, I find myself correcting my girls so much more than commenting positively on something they did. That’s why when I saw this idea, I just knew I had to do it…
I am going to give my girls love notes every day for the month of February. Just a small note telling them something I love about them.
I will attach the notes to these heart shaped pin boards that I found at Target. They are big enough to hold all the messages AND they came with these cute gold heart shaped pushpins.
I will also use these adorable red and pink heart pushpins to attach the love notes.
These small tags will be perfect for writing the messages.
The boards are hanging on their doors, and I’ll add another love note each morning before they wake up.
What better way to tell your kids all the ways you love them!
