We all have our morning routines…I’m sure most of your mornings begin with coffee or tea! If you know me, you know I am a tea drinker (a hot tea in the morning, followed by iced tea the rest of the day).
I added another beverage to my mornings about eight months ago…a “green smoothie.” Now I know that there are so many smoothie recipes out there, but I’ve found that I really like this one for many reasons.
First, I love the flavor and consistency of it…not to mention that I’m already getting a serving of veggies in my body early in the day! And I love how filling it is…I’m not hungry for several hours after drinking it!
I also like that there are only four ingredients…most of which I already have in my kitchen on a regular basis.
- banana
- baby spinach (a large handful)
- pineapple chunks (1 cup)
- low fat vanilla yogurt (1 cup)
- plus water and ice
I just throw the banana, pineapple, baby spinach, yogurt, and one cup of water in the blender and mix until throughly combined.
Once fully combined, I throw in a handful of ice cubes and mix again.
And it’s all done and ready for pouring! I refill my glass with it a few times throughout the morning as I go about the rest of my routine…
