Earlier this week I shared the details of my “I is for Ice Cream” party. It was a fun back to school celebration…made complete with fun, friends, and lots of ice cream toppings!
I kept the party decor rather simple, with the focus on the alphabet letter paper I used for the background. With the paper being black and white, I wanted to add some color. A bright, colorful garland of ice cream cones was the perfect accent for the table decor, and today I’m sharing the DIY on making it.
For this project, you will need…
- cardboard egg carton
- brown paint
- paintbrush
- scissors
- hot glue gun
- yarn pompoms
- string or jute
Start by cutting out the pointed sections that are in the middle of the egg carton. Trim off the extra part of the cardboard so that it somewhat resembles a cone shape.
Continue that until all the pointed sections are cut. Then, place them pointed end up and begin painting them with the brown paint.
Once dry, place the yarn pompom on top and attach using hot glue.
Finally, attach the ‘ice cream cones’ to string or jute using hot glue.
So fun to create, and it was just the finishing touch needed for this party decor!
