Last week, I had the opportunity to share tablescape ideas on a local news show, WTOL “Your Day at 9.” Despite being nervous, it was a lot of fun! I’ve had many questions about some of the table decor…so since a four minute segment just doesn’t cover everything, I decided to share those ideas in blog post form.
Earlier this week, I shared my idea for a rustic christmas tablescape.
Today, we are going in the opposite direction! A glamorous, luxurious tablescape…
Think glitter, sparkle, faux fur, bold and bright colors, fine crystal, and shimmery ribbon! And these colors are not your typical Christmas colors…pink, silver, white, gray, and black. But they do set the tone for an elegant gathering, right?
Okay so let’s break down this luxurious setup…
I used a black tablecloth. I’ve owned this one for years, and it has a subtle pattern to it with a bit of shimmer in the design. However, you could easily use a plain black tablecloth and it would look just fine.
For the center of the table, I placed a long strip of white faux fur down the middle of the table. Such a fun and unexpected element of this table decor! It does give the table a luxurious and glamorous look!
For the place settings, I used white dinner plates on top of silver metallic chargers. Black salad plates finished off the layered look. You might think that good china is necessary for a glamorous look…I love that you can use simple, inexpensive dishes and have a sophisticated look by accessorizing with the right items!
I did use my crystal stemware, however. I just liked the way the intricate design on my glasses looked on the table, but simple ones would look pretty, also.
The boxes wrapped up in silver paper, with a name tag attached using pink ribbon serve two purposes…a place card and a take-home favor. There is chocolate in the box for each guest!
A white cotton napkin tucked between the charger and the dinner plate completes the look.
The centerpiece is a small collection of pink, white, silver, and gray bottle brush trees scattered atop the faux fur. The varying heights and colors are appealing to the eye!
Setting a table for a glamorous dinner doesn’t get any easier than this!
Once again, I’ll share the sources for most items below…
