So here we are just a few days before Christmas…and I ask “are you NAUGHTY or NICE?” I’m sure Santa is making his lists and checking them twice, AND hopefully you are on the NICE list!
With this being the final week of holiday festivities, I thought it would be fun to host a NAUGHTY or NICE ornament exchange party. Now this wasn’t any ordinary ornament exchange…the guests had the option to open a wrapped ornament or “steal” one from someone who had already unwrapped one. So do you take your chances and open one not knowing what it looks like (that would be the NICE thing to do)? Or do you take one that another guest has already opened and that you know you will like (you may be on the NAUGHTY list for doing that)?
Of course, decorating for a party is my favorite thing to do!
Red and green are standard Christmas colors, but I chose something a bit different…bright pink, green, black, and white. Fun and crisp colors! I used THIS black and white checked tablecloth, along with THESE #naughty and #nice napkins. Instead of hanging THIS hot pink chandelier from the ceiling, I placed it ON the table with a small vase of green flowers to serve as the “centerpiece.” Doesn’t it make a pretty contrast on the black and white checked pattern!
The gold mylar balloons spelling out N-A-U-G-H-T-Y O-R N-I-C-E made a fun backdrop for the table!
So with NAUGHTY or NICE being the theme, I thought it would be fun to carry it out with the food and beverages.
Let’s start with the NICE food…
It’s so hard to eat healthy this time of year, but I thought these NICE options would be…well, nice!
Now for the NAUGHTY…
And there are some foods that could go either way…a bit NAUGHTY and a bit NICE. I placed those foods in the middle of the table, right between the NAUGHTY and NICE and let my guests decide.
Now for the beverages…
My bar cart was decked out in pink, green, and gold with THIS colorful tassel garland. The drinks were divided into NAUGHTY and NICE categories, as well!
If my guests were craving a warm beverage, a hot cocoa bar was set up with lots of toppings…
Even NAUGHTY ones!
After mingling and catching up with friends, it was time for the ornament exchange. I must say that everyone was NICE, even if they were “stealing” an ornament from someone. Maybe they had enough NAUGHTY when it came to the food and beverages!
In my opinion, you are all on the NICE list! I say that because the readers of my blog are always so kind and supportive in your feedback. So thank you for being NICE, and reading and sharing my blog posts…it means so much to me!
This is my final post for 2017…I’m looking forward to spending time with my family over the holidays. I’ll be back with some fresh content in January. Even some “FRIDAY’S FAVORITES”…I know some of you have missed those in the past few weeks.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
