If you’ve been reading my recent posts, you may remember that I started the Whole 30 eating plan last month. I shared my thoughts and a few recipes HERE and HERE.
Well, the thirty days have passed (actually, Day 30 was last Tuesday), and I’ve had a few people ask how it went. So I’m sharing a Whole 30 update…
Let me start by saying that I’ve always been a believer that if you can do something for 21 days, then it becomes a part of your everyday routine and a habit (that goes for healthy or unhealthy habits). So I thought I had conquered my unhealthy eating habits by that point! Nope…let’s just say that life got in the way around Day 23 or 24.
LIFE, you know…taking Claire from the orthodontist to tutoring to musical rehearsal to a basketball game, all in the span of 5 hours. And then coordinating the props for said musical and trying to maintain things on the homefront. My life became busy, and it was too complicated to roast vegetables and plan out “no grain, no sugar, no dairy meals.”
So once you have one slipup, it’s easy to have another one and maybe another…so I am being very honest by telling you that I “fell off the Whole 30 wagon.” However, I will say that I have never felt so great as when I was eating the plan. My body has still not adjusted to eating certain foods.
Because I like to succeed at most things that I try, I’ve decided to try another round of Whole 30. I’m going to wait until after Valentine’s Day, though…I want to set myself up for success, after all!
