Can you believe it’s already the end of February…as they say, where did the time go? Tomorrow is the first day of March, and if the weather is anything like these past few days have been, I say BRING IT ON! However, we all know about March weather in the midwest…it can be inconsistent, to say the least. Warm, mild temperatures and sunny one day AND cold, windy, and snowy the next day. At least we know spring it on it’s way…
And with the approaching spring season, we have a few holidays to celebrate. Up first is St. Patrick’s Day, and today I’m sharing a fun twist on a vanilla milkshake…
lucky charms milkshake
To make these, you will need…
- marshmallow creme
- lucky charms cereal
- sprinkles (I used green shamrocks and rainbow circles)
- gold dragees
- vanilla ice cream
- milk
- whipped topping
- glasses and straws
It’s just a vanilla milkshake, but what makes it extra fun is the topping on the rim of the glass! Start by spreading some of the marshmallow creme around the top part of the glass. Decorate using the lucky charms cereal, the sprinkles, and the gold dragees. Do this quickly before the marshmallow creme starts dripping…I place the glasses in the freezer to fully set once they are covered with the cereal, sprinkles, and gold dragees.
Then, blend together the ice cream and milk. Pour it into the glass and top it with the whipped topping. Add some more sprinkles and gold dragees to the top of the whipped cream.
And the finishing tough…a rainbow lucky charm!
