Who remembers slumber parties as a kid? Staying up all (or at least most of the) night, experimenting with makeup and nail polish on your girlfriends, watching a fun movie while eating popcorn, laughing and giggling about silly things…those were certainly fun times!
Now I get to be the mom during those slumber parties, which may not be as much fun…did I mention how cranky girls can be when they stay up all night!
Although, I did have some fun planning this slumber birthday party…
After the “slumber,” the girls awoke the next morning to have breakfast at this table that was decorated to look like a bed. I covered the the table with a white ruffled tablecloth…the ruffles resembled a bedskirt. Then I covered it with some soft fleece fabric in a gray and pink pattern.
The “headboard” was made out of foam board. I simply cut it in the shape of a headboard and added details with some paint. It was attached to the end of the table, and then a few pillows were placed in front of it. It really looks like a bed, right?
Some pink and white paper lanterns, as well as #11 silver mylar balloons were the finishing touches for the birthday party decor.
The pink and gray color combination was used for the place settings, also. I layered the ruffled plates for a fun look. Pink striped paper straws in mason jar glasses were perfect for sipping on milk or juice. The breakfast consisted of a waffle and pancake bar with all the toppings!
And the birthday “cake”…well, it was a short stack of buttermilk pancakes!
