November marks the end of birthday season in our house, with my youngest celebrating her big day just before Thanksgiving. She is SO excited to celebrate her ninth birthday with her close friends…she asks every morning, “How many more days until my birthday?” Oh, to be young and carefree!
With each passing day, I realize I better start the “party planning process.” For me, that begins with determining the theme of the party. We talked about a few ideas, and C decided she wants a SPA PARTY this year. We set the date and mailed the invitations. Now to plan the party…
The first step in my party planning is to search for ideas and items…decorations, paper goods, favors, crafts, activities, food and treats. I must admit that I really enjoy this part of the process…I could spend hours browsing stores and looking online for party decor.
Here are some items I am considering for the SPA PARTY…
How cute are those spa themed photo props! Perfect for some fun and silly pictures during the party, along with the photo booth sign. I like the idea of using instax mini film to take the pictures, also. What fun border designs, and the guests can take the pictures home with them as memories of the party. I also love this sassy surprise ball as an activity for the guests to do in between spa treatments!
In keeping with the spa theme of the party, I thought these pink robes would be darling for each of the guests to wear. I also like these polka dot (of course, I like them…they are polka dots, right) cosmetic bags. I can fill them with goodies like lip glosses, lotions, and such for each girl to take home.
Now for my favorite part…the decorations! I am using a pink (various shades), gold, and black color scheme. The table covering will be pink with black and white striped runners. I like this festooning garland in various colors to add to the room decorations, along with pink feather boas and strands of black pearls.
Paper products are another way to decorate using the color scheme and theme of the party. I love these chalkboard label plastic cups…so fun to add names or a short message to the cup, and a lid with a cute paper straw means no spills. The gold and white plates and napkins will add some glam to the pink tablecloth. This adorable cake topper (of course, hers will be a NINE) will add some more sparkle to the party.
Now I can’t share ALL the details of her party! I must leave some surprises for C and her guests, so check back later this month for the full reveal of her SPA PARTY…
