I love holidays…ALL of them! Since it has been over month since the last holiday celebration, I thought it was time for a fun get-together for my youngest daughter and a few of her friends. We hosted a cookie decorating party. Of course it started out as a cookie party, but I thought it would be more fun to decorate heart-shaped cakes, brownies, rice krispie treats, AS WELL AS the cutout cookies! Each guest was greeted with an apron and a pink bakers box. I supplied them with stickers, doilies, crayons, and washi tape to decorate their boxes. They loved this, and it kept everyone occupied until all the guests arrived.
Then the real (and sweet) fun started! My daughter and her friends had so much fun creating and decorating their individual heart-shaped cakes, cookies, and brownies with all the sprinkles and frosting…pink, red, and white, of course.
More confections were created when they dipped rice krispie treats (that I had put on sticks ahead of time) into melted red and pink chocolate followed by a smattering of sprinkles. We placed these on waxed paper to solidify while we boxed up the rest of their baked goods and tied the boxes with red bakers twine. Everyone left the party with a box full of valentine sweets!
Such a fun time for all! So sweet, so simple…
