The pool days are upon us! Those long carefree days spent at the pool…swim team practice, water ballet rehearsals, swim playdates with friends. Lots of our summer hours are spent at the pool. That means it’s time to pack the pool bag for the season…
I love my new pool bag! It has everything I was looking for…shoulder straps, a bright colorful pattern, can be personalized with a monogram, water resistant, side zipper pockets.
While I enjoy our days at the pool, I do NOT like what all the sun and chlorine does to my daughter’s hair. I discovered this shampoo and conditioner years ago when my teenage daughters were involved with swim team. It is the best for getting rid of the chemical build up, and it leaves the hair manageable…you can actually get a brush through it!
It is much easier to have C wash and condition her hair before we leave the pool, so I put together a small bag containing hair products that fits inside my pool bag. It is also water resistant, and it has a small handle so she can hang it on a hook. I have small travel size containers of the Malibu C shampoo and conditioner in it. I also keep hair bands and bobby pins in it, as well as a Wet Brush. The Wet Brush has been life-changing for us…it is the best brush EVER! No more crying and screaming when trying to get a brush through C’s long, tangled hair!
I keep a small blanket in there, also. Our pool provides towels for its’ members and guests, but I like having this pretty pink blanket for spreading on my lounge chair.
Another item in my pool bag is this “wet stuff” bag. It’s a great place to stash that wet swimsuit in the pool bag while keeping everything else in the bag dry. C keeps her goggles in there, also.
Of course, I have sunscreen in the pool bag. C keeps her pool toys in there, and I throw in my reading material for the day…and we are ready to go!
You can find us poolside…

Only you can make the insides of a pool bag look like a work of art!
