We had an overnight trip last weekend for my daughter’s regatta, which was about three hours away from our house. I’m convinced that packing for one night is just as much effort as packing for an entire week! Plus there was a change in weather…so that meant taking along hats, gloves, coats, extra layers of clothing, blankets, umbrellas (just in case), extra socks, and boots.
I knew it was going to be a long day for G and her rowing friends, so I put together snack boxes for them. Besides, what’s a car trip without snacks!
I started with these plastic craft supply containers with individual compartments inside them, along with different designs of washi tape in the school colors.
Then I just placed strips of the washi tape on top of the container.
Continue putting the washi tape on the lid until it is completely covered.
Since there would be five of these in our car, I thought name tags were necessary. I created some using card stock, alphabet stickers, and bakers twine.
I found these cute metal arrow embellishments and thought they were perfect…the school mascot is the arrows!
Attach the name tags to the containers.
Then the fun part (although I think the washi tape part is pretty fun) of filling the containers with snacks. Goldfish crackers, raisins, dried banana chips, pistachios, jelly beans (in the school colors, of course), sesame sticks, pretzels, teddy grahams…lots of variety.
Snap the lids closed and the snack boxes are ready to be packed now!
A fun and spirited snack box idea that can be filled again for the next regatta!
