I had a little company while I made this fruit dip for my girls yesterday…one didn’t have school due to a snow day, and another was home sick for the day. Unfortunately, my oldest headed off to school to take semester exams…I don’t have to tell you how unfair she was feeling about life at that moment!
Anyway, back to my kitchen and the fruit dip…G walked in as I was getting my ingredients ready and this conversation ensued.
G: You’re going to blog about this, aren’t you?
Me: Yes, I am. Why?
G: I can tell…you’re never THAT neat when you normally cook.
Me: Well, it is my cooking show and I like to keep my audience entertained.
G (looking quite puzzled): WHAT are you talking about?
Me: I like to pretend that I have my own cooking show, you know like on the Food Network. So I set it all up just like that when I’m cooking and blogging…
At this point, I think I lost her…or she just thinks her mom is crazy! Now she doesn’t have to wonder what I do all day…I pretend to have my own cooking show!!
Okay, back to that fruit dip recipe…
You will need…
- 2 cups skim milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- package (3.5 oz) vanilla instant pudding mix
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
Whisk the milk, sour cream, and pudding mix together until smooth.
Add the peanut butter and sugar, and stir until well blended.
Serve with fruit…sliced apples, bananas, grapes, strawberries or any other fruit you wish.
This makes a great after school snack…well, it would have if they had gone to school. Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed it…even my daughter who went to school!
